Heat & Sun Considerations
Please note: The darker the color, the hotter the deck will feel in direct sunlight. For better heat mitigation, consider lighter colors or TimberTech Vintage® Advanced PVC, which generally performs better in heat than Trex Transcend Lineage®.
*Even cooler-running decking can get hot on clear summer days. Avoid extended contact between exposed skin and the deck surface, especially with young children.
Built for Docks & Marinas
Deckorators Voyage decking isn't just for backyard decks — it thrives in harsh waterfront environments too.
Submersible
Can be fully submerged without warping, swelling, or structural compromise.
Splinter-Free
Walk barefoot with confidence — no splinters, no rough edges, ever.
Handles Harsh Conditions
Salt spray, UV exposure, and constant moisture — composite shrugs it off.
Stays Cooler
Won't absorb and radiate heat like pressure-treated lumber or traditional decking.
Low Maintenance
No sanding, staining, or sealing — just rinse and enjoy.
Fire-Resistant Decking
Utah's Wildland-Urban Interface areas demand materials that meet strict fire codes. Deckorators Voyage delivers.
Ignition Resistant
Tested and rated to resist ignition from ember exposure and radiant heat.
WUI Compliant
Meets Wildland-Urban Interface building codes — approved for use in high-fire-risk areas across Utah.
Meets Strict Standards
Complies with California WUI standards (Chapter 7A) and ICC IWUIC requirements for exterior construction.
Peace of Mind
Build confidently in foothill communities, mountain retreats, and anywhere wildfire risk is a concern.
Deckorators Voyage FAQ
What is Surestone® technology and why does it matter?
Surestone® is Deckorators' patented mineral-based composite — it replaces wood fibers with mineral stone. This makes the boards 35% lighter than traditional composite, 34% more slip-resistant when wet, and completely impervious to water absorption. It's a fundamentally different material that won't swell, warp, or rot.
Can Voyage boards be used for more than just decking?
Yes — Voyage is one of the few decking lines rated for residential cladding, vertical applications, and in-ground installation. You can use it for accent walls, skirting, planters, and even dock surfaces. The multi-width boards make architectural applications especially striking.
What board widths are available in the Voyage collection?
Voyage offers four widths: 3-1/2", 5-1/2", 7-1/4", and 9-1/4" (solid edge only). This multi-width capability lets you create custom wood-floor patterns and visual interest that single-width boards simply can't achieve. Step treads at 11-1/4" are also available.
How does Deckorators Voyage handle Utah's freeze-thaw cycles?
Exceptionally well. Because Surestone® doesn't absorb water, there's nothing to freeze and expand inside the board. Traditional composites with wood fibers can absorb moisture and crack during freeze-thaw. Voyage eliminates that risk entirely, backed by a Limited Lifetime Structural Warranty.
What hidden fastener system works with Voyage?
Voyage grooved-edge boards work with StealthLock™ hidden fasteners — a CAMO innovation that creates a clean, fastener-free surface. Solid-edge boards can be face-screwed for structural applications like stairs and cladding.
How does Voyage compare to TimberTech AZEK decking?
Both are premium, non-wood-fiber products — TimberTech AZEK uses 100% PVC while Voyage uses mineral-based Surestone®. Voyage offers four board widths (vs three for AZEK Vintage), cladding capability, and in-ground/water installation warranty. AZEK offers heat-bending. Both carry lifetime structural warranties. We carry both brands and can help you choose — explore TimberTech here.
